As he stepped into the bright room and his eyes began to adjust, he first noticed his grandfather sitting at the long table, his arms chained together.

Dwarfed by the opulence he had once reigned over, the old man pulled himself up when he saw the boy walk into the room, his ravaged skin almost tearing apart with a twisted smile. With the force he had, he spat the only word the boy expected from him: "Traitor!"
