The English and Literary Society’s annual literary magazine is currently accepting submissions and we highly encourage all members to submit their work. All submissions should be sent to elsentries@gmail.com, along with any questions regarding the magazine and submissions.
Guidelines for submissions are as follows:
The deadline for submissions is the 8th of December, 2012.
We’re looking for fresh, new, innovative work to feature in our magazine - works that are out of the norm and stand out from the crowd! We highly encourage all our members to submit their works as it is a fantastic chance to see your work in print.
We look forward to reading all your submissions!
Guidelines for submissions are as follows:
- Each person may submit a maximum of two entries.
- Each entry may be a maximum length of 2,000 words (though allowances can be made
regarding the length of your work, if it’s way over the maximum word count, it won’t be
accepted). - Entries should be sent as an attachment, with the title of the submission and the name
of the author included in the attached file. - The subject of your e-mail should include the title of the submission, the name of the
author and the member's UCD student number. - Only entries in English will be accepted.
- Entries should be formatted in size 12 font, double spaced. The font should be clear
and legible. - Entries with atypical formatting will be accepted so long as the entry is legible and
coherent. - Attachments should be sent as .doc, .docx or .txt files.
- The magazine is open to most genres, including prose, poetry, lyrics, creative
non-fiction, novel extracts and drama. However, we will not be accepting journalistic and
academic works. - The magazine will be accepting works which include mature themes, so long as the
mature themes are handled tastefully. - Only members of the English and Literary Society may have their works published in the
magazine.
